Many online bingo sites are providing internet bingo forums for their members but are they more trouble than they are worth? When I first started playing online bingo I didn’t even know what a forum was, yes I knew what the word meant but hadn’t ever seen an online forum before.
The definition of a forum is a public meeting or lecture involving audience (taken from the Oxford Dictionary online) and online bingo forums are just that, a place to catch up with your friends, a meeting place if you like.
But are they of any real value to an internet bingo site?
The site I was involved with used it as a tool to highlight promotions and even had a VIP loyalty scheme that required you to be a contributory member of their forum. Although the scheme meant free loyalty points that could be converted in to money to play bingo with (another type of bingo bonus) it was never really a transparent process. There were no hard and fast rules as to what you needed to contribute to the forum or how much money you needed to deposit to be awarded cups or V’s.The more cups or V’s you had, the more loyalty points you received.
Although the internet bingo forums that I have ever been a member of meant you could catch up with your fellow bingo players and share your news, ask advice and so forth, there was also a great deal of playground behaviour – name calling, back stabbing and the like.
Ultimately by providing an internet bingo forum for its players aren’t the management of the site opening themselves up to all complaints and issues with the site becoming public knowledge?
