Do you think it is acceptable practice for an internet bingo chat host to be able to play bingo on the site he/she is employed at? My personal opinion is that this should not be allowed, although in some instances it is entirely unavoidable. For example if a chat host is paid in bonus points then short of working for free they have no option but to play bingo on the site.
It may be that the site is part of a network or has sister sites and they can only play on one of the other sites – this is more plausible. In the case of stand alone sites though I feel it is unacceptable.
I can only speak from my personal experience and will say in defence of this practice that as far as I was aware it would be impossible to fix games so that specific players could win, so the internet bingo chat host using their player account had no better chance than a normal player on the site but on the other hand, having been paid entirely in bonus points the only way to recoup any real money would be to buy the maximum amount of cards to increase the chance of winning cash.
Most internet bingo sites will use your REAL MONEY before using any bonus money in your account so you would have to be winning quite well to benefit from the bonus points to convert it into real cash.
Also, many of you will know, when you make a withdrawal from an online bingo site in most cases you will lose all, if not a percentage of any bonus points left in your account. Unless a specific agreement has been made with management to say that any withdrawals will not result in loss of bonus points then the chat host who is paid in bonus points is nearly always going to end up working for free and only really boosting room numbers.
I have already said in not so many words – working for bonus points is a mugs game.
Internet bingo chat hosts having a player’s account on the same site leads to a lot of ill feeling. There are two scenarios – the first being the host hides their player identity from players – this doesn’t work and the reason it doesn’t work?
Most online bingo players are pretty loyal to a site they like and at some point will have come into contact with all the Chat Hosts – and we all have pretty unique ways of typing. If you read any article I’ve written, I don’t use comma’s as much as hyphens – something unique to me and this would come across to a player who has spent a lot of time in a room with me. Another thing that will come across is certain sayings, one of my favourites being “wind ya neck in”. It only takes one player to even suspect that the player is infact a chat host and rumours will start.
The second scenario is the upfront approach – player’s know from the outset that the player is a chat host. To see a host winning numerous games, whether common sense tells you the game cannot be rigged or not, will lead to bad feelings.
