Daily Express Bingo has a bit of a mixed history, and was originally part of the Cyberbingo network. This network closed in 2011 though, and for a while they vanished from our computer screens. In 2013, Daily Express Bingo reappeared as part of the new Daily Express Games site. They are now powered by the G2 Gtech (Spielo) software and form part of the St Minver network, offering a wider range of games and better promotions then ever before.
Claire Sweeney was the face of Daily Express Bingo at relauch, appearing on the main banner at the top of the homepage. However, when the site was redesigned following the changes to the gambling regulations on 1st November 2014, she was nowhere to be seen. The site looks very much like the newspaper with a black, white and red colour scheme accompanying the Crusader logo from the tabloid. On the front page you will find a selection of banners advertising their latest special offers and promotions. sitting alongside this a miniature lobby showing a small a number of their rooms with links that take you directly to the room.
Registering at Daily Express Bingo is a simple enough process, but you will need to come up with both a username and a log in name, which is the identity you will be known by in the chatrooms. If you are already registered at any of the other sites on the network, the names you choose will need to be different to any you have used before. You do not need to enter any credit card information when opening an account, but as soon as you do they will welcome you with a small amount of free cash so you can get a feel for the place. If you like what you see, and decide you want to play for real, you will receive a decent bonus the first three deposits.
Unlike most site out there, the lobby is integrated into the site and does not open up in a new window. The lobby page is made up of a series of tabs leading to all of their games which include 75 ball bingo, 80 ball bingo, 90 ball bingo and a range of exciting mini games. There are just five bingo rooms to choose from, and in the lobby you can see all of the important information you need including the game type, the time until the next game starts, the ticket price, the number of players taking part and the prize you will be playing for.
The rooms do take slightly longer to long then you would usually expect, but once you are in there everything is nicely laid out. The left hand side of the screen is dedicated to you bingo cards and there are a few basic options built in but no different dauber shapes or colours to brighten the game up a bit. You can also access a selection of mini games, but as these open up on the same screen, it reduces the size of the chat room drastically, making it really hard to follow what’s going on.
The chat room itself is where you will make new friends, enjoy a bit of banter and take part in chat games when there are enough people in the room to justify it. There are loads of cute emoticons built in alone with a selection of the most commonly used acronyms, which saves you all of that repetitive typing when wishing people luck or congratulating them on their wins. You can increase the font size if you are having problems reading the discussions, and you can even lock it down and stop the scrolling, giving you more time to absorb information such chat game rules.
Daily Express is a decent online bingo site, and even though they don’t have loads of different rooms to choose from, there is still enough choice to stop you getting bored. Add to this a great range of promotions including a regular line-up and a wide variety of monthly specials and you have a site with plenty to offer. If they could just offer something above and beyond the other sites on the network though, their appeal would be greatly increased.
Daily Express Bingo Review – Bingo Games
Game Options at Daily Express Bingo
Daily Express Bingo is actually part of the larger Daily Express Games, and as such you have access to a wide variety of games. There is 75 ball, 80 ball and 90 ball bingo as well as a wide range of instant games including slots, scratchcards, progressives, casino games and arcade games. As there is no lobby in the traditional sense, all of these games can be accessed simply by clicking on the page you want, then the link to the game which in turn opens up in a new window.
Click on the little spanner in the bottom left hand corner of the bingo room and you will find the usual options including auto daub and best card sorting as well as options relating to the game sounds and graphics quality. There is an easy to use auto-buy feature and you can set it for the number of games you wish to play, the number tickets you want to purchase and the maximum ticket price you are willing to pay.
Jackpot
As part of their line-up of promotions, Daily Express Bingo gives away over £1,200 worth of guaranteed cash jackpots every night of the week. These guaranteed games take place between 9pm and 10pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. On Thursday nights however, you get the chance to win even more money, because the prize pot is doubled to a whopping £2,500. All of these games take place in a linked room which can be accessed from any bingo room except for Bingo Party Live.
In addition to this, Daily Express Bingo has a ‘Giant Jackpot’ up for grabs in their Bingo Cafe room. This jackpot is in play for five hours a day, during three sessions:
- Morning Session: 10am and 12pm
- Afternoon Session: 3pm and 5pm
- Evening Session: 8pm and 9pm
This ‘Giant Jackpot’ keeps on growing until someone calls a full house in thirty three balls or less, and at the time of writing this review, it sits at over £40,000.
Promotions
Daily Express Bingo is part of the St Minver network and offers their standard promotions. This is not necessarily a bad thing though as they have quite an impressive line-up of regulars offers including guaranteed jackpots, progressive jackpots, free bingo, penny bingo, fastest finger first and a free daily scratchcard where you can win up to £100.
Every month they add specials to this line-up, and it is usually through these that you can win more impressive prizes. In the past we have seen the give away shopping vouchers, experience days, passes to sporting events, tickets for music and comedy events and even mini breaks and holidays.
If you are not so worried about the big prizes though, you can always join in the fun packed chat games that take place in all of Daily Express Bingo’s rooms. These are a great way to pass the time and make new friends and give you the opportunity to win a few extra pounds worth of bonus money, that you can spend on bingo cards or mini games.
Loyalty
From the moment you sign up at Daily Express Bingo, you become part of their loyalty scheme. For every £1 you wager, you will be rewarded with loyalty points, but the actual number you receive depends on which game you are playing:
- 10 loyalty points for every £1 wagered on bingo games
- 5 loyalty points for every £1 wagered on side games
- 1 loyalty point for every £1 wagered on table games
You can check how many loyalty points you have accumulated in the main lobby and they will be updated every time you play. Every 1,000 loyalty points you collect can be exchanged for £1 worth of Bonus Bucks, and these can be used on most of their slots and bingo Games. If you have reached the higher levels of their loyalty scheme though, you can exchange your points for real cash:
- Club Emerald: 10,000 loyalty points = £1 real cash
- Club Gold: 10,000 loyalty points = £2 real cash
- Club Diamond: 10,000 loyalty points = £3 real cash
