bgo Bingo launched in the autumn of 2012, and even though they were part the Mandalay Gaming Group, they actually used their own proprietary software. In June 2015 all of this changed though, when they opted to drop their unique platform in favour of the Virtue Fusion/Playtech software and network. This may seem like an unusual move and yes we agree, but the change does give them access to a larger pool of players, and in turn that will result in larger jackpots, which we are sure you will agree is never a bad thing!

At the point of the change from proprietary Verne Troyer had been joined by the glamorous (and somewhat infamous) Paris Hilton, and whilst she may boost the celebrity factor, she does not really add a lot to the proceedings. The new homepage is a vast improvement over the previous one which was packed full of too much information and too complicated to navigate. You are now presented with a list of the rooms, complete with all of the details you need to help you decide where to play, and you can access them with a single mouse click.

The rest of the page is equally clutter free with a scrolling banner across the top detailing their latest offers and promotions, and everything screams wealth, from Paris’s silver dress to the bling around Verneís neck! There is a list of the top instant games running down the right hand side of the screen and a list of the progressive jackpots, and you can’t help but be impressed with some of the figures on show. The rest of the site is accessible from the simple menu at the top of the page, and we had no problems finding our way around.

If you had an account with the old bgo Bingo, you can log in with your existing details as everything was carried over. If you are new to the brand however you can register and be up and running within a few minutes. You will be welcomed with an impressive bonus on your first deposit, plus twenty free spins to get you going. They offer a number of different ways to fund your account including all major credit and debit cards, plus Ukash and Paypal if you prefer to keep an eye on how much you are spending.

One thing you can be sure of is that you will never get bored at bgo Bingo as there is a wealth of games to choose from. If you are a bingo fan there is 75, 80 and 90 ball versions available. If you prefer instant games though, there are loads for you to peruse and you an access them from the lobby or from inside the bingo rooms. If you like your slots but don’t want to miss out on the social side of things, you are in luck because they offer some fantastic multiplayer slots too including The Money Ladder, Marine Mayhem and Clover Countdown to name but a few.

Even though bgo Bingo is now part of a network, they do offer some of their own standalone rooms too. The benefit of these is that instead of playing against roomies from all of the other brands on the Virtue Fusion network, you will only be playing against fellow bgo Bingo players. The jackpots may not be as high as the networked rooms, because there are fewer people feeding into the prize pot, but with few people competing, your chances of winning are great improved. This exclusive rooms can be accessed via the bgo World tab in the lobby

The rooms themselves are all of a high standard, and you can really tell the software has been tweaked over the years to make sure everything works perfectly and with the minimum of fuss. They are split down the middle with the left hand side dedicated to enjoying a bit of banter with your friends and the right for displaying your cards. You can clearly see the patterns you are playing and the value of the prizes you are playing for. You can change rooms without having to return to the lobby and even fund your account all from the same page.

Not everyone will be happy with the software change, but you really can’t fault their choice. The Virtue Fusion software has a proven track record and brings with it more rooms, higher jackpots, improved promotions and a host of other benefits. bgo Bingo have managed to keep the quality feel we have come to expect from them and the addition of the standalone rooms helps them stand out from the crowd. If you have not yet signed up and given them a try, you really should, we promise you will not be disappointed!
