Wink Bingo has been around since February 2008, and over the years they have gone through many changes, the majority of which have improved the site. They are powered by the 888Holdings/Globalcom software that we see all too often, but are actually a standalone site. This gives them a lot more freedom to offer something a little different, whilst at the same time benefiting from software that has been honed to perfection across a number of well established brands.

Wink Bingo is targeting predominantly female players, and even though they have now removed the male strippers from their homepage, it is awash with pink and lilac. The page is nicely designed though, with a large animated banner advertising their latest promotions and a small graphic showing your cash balance, bonus balance and Loyalty Points total. Below this is a small lobby, complete with all of the important details you need and links that will take you directly to the rooms, bypassing the need to enter the main lobby.

The other advantage of being a standalone site, is that you don’t get any of those annoying duplicate account problems that we always seem to encounter when registering on networked sites. You will be welcomed with a higher then average bonus on your first deposit, plus if you deposit £10 or more, you get the chance to ‘Spin the Wheel’. The wheel is made up of different segments, and each one has a different value. Every player is guaranteed to be a winner, with prize ranging between £15 and £1,000 worth of bonus money.

The lobby is packed full of options, with tabs for Free & Fun, 90 Ball, 75 Ball, Prebuys, Instants, Progressives and VIP. The only extra information that we would like to see, is the value of the next jackpot, as this is something most of us would consider before choosing which room to play in.

The rooms themselves are exactly the same as all of the other 88Holdings/Globalcom powered sites, but this is not bad thing as everything is nicely laid out and functional. There is a large area of the screen dedicated to showing the cards you have purchased, and you can click on each one to select them, or auto select in blocks of twelve to save time. The right hand side of the screen is where you can enjoy a chat with fellow roomies, or play a selection of mini games, so you will never be short of things to do.

In the chat room there are plenty of emoticons and all of the usual acronyms such as GL, WTG, 3TG, 2TG and 1TG, all of which save you having to keep on typing them over and over again. You can also change the size and colour of your font to make you stand out from the crowd. One of the nicest features though, is the ability to purchase virtual gifts with your Loyalty Points, that you can then send to anyone else in the room.

Where once the site had an abundance of unique and interesting promotions, since 888 acquired the company who originally ran the Joy of Bingo network, this is no longer the case.
