With so many bingo sites to choose from online today it is often the case that some of the brands we have previously reviewed simply become outdated. Maria Bingo is one such brand that we feel just doesn’t come up to par in comparison. For this reason we have chosen to archive our review of the brand and redirect our readers to a better site using the same software, Winner Bingo.

The following review is for information purposes only and will no longer be updated. The last update for this review was November 2013.

Maria is a brand that offers Poker, Live Casino, Lottery and Slots as well as Bingo. Although the Maria brand has been established since 2006 and enjoyed success across Europe, it has only recently been launched into the UK market, amid a TV advertising campaign and a site redesign. But have you really gotta see Maria, like Blondie affirms? We take a look at their Bingo offering. Upon landing on the Maria Bingo homepage, you will be greeted by the consistent red, white and beige branding which follows across the whole brand. The layout is smart, simple and tidy, and features some superb quality graphics. There is £5 free upon signing up and registering in the bingo lobby.

Once inside the lobby at Maria Bingo , you will see a familiar scene, as the site is powered by Virtue Fusion. Those of you familiar with Virtue Fusion gameplay will therefore find no surprises here, although the colour scheme is a little calmer and less intrusive than it can be on some sites. The layout of the Lobby is very simple, as is gameplay, following the Maria colour scheme, and this almost Nordic simplicity is actually quite becoming. However, some players may find it a little flat.

The site features 90 and 75 Ball bingo and various varieties of that. There does not seem to be a large variety of bingo play on offer, although the seven on offer at time of writing had reasonable jackpots of up to £150.00. There are also progressive jackpots on offer, plus a handful of specials with larger jackpots which reach into the thousands. However, there are a range of side games too, including online slots and instants, plus the CMs will play some additional chat games with his/her roomies if the room is full enough, which again is a nice addition.

The site is clearly proving popular, as there is a good community and busy chat rooms on offer with your bingo play. The CMs seem friendly and communicative, and seem to favour personal communication rather than the mass of auto-good luck messages which some sites sprinkle across their chat pages. However, English speaking players will find an abundance of European players, with much of the chat going on in Norwegian or Swedish, which may be off putting at the moment – but this may change once they build up their UK player base. However, all of the CMs speak English too, so there will always be some chat options available.

In terms of Welcomes Bonuses, you may be lucky enough to receive the £5 freeplay, but it is not advertised on the site prior to joining, so it is not a guarantee. There is a 200% sign up bonus – which is limited to a £10 deposit. At any given time there are a good range of bonuses on offer, for example, BOGOF Bingo, free spins on side games and big jackpots, but Maria are currently lacking on proper juicy giveaways, which may disappoint some players.

You have the choice of playing in Maria Bingo only rooms or networked rooms. In relation to the bingo bonuses they offer, these will appear in the bingo client and you must ‘opt in’ to receive them. You simply need to open the bonus offer by clicking on the + icon, which is located next to the bonus to review the information and terms and conditions of the bonus. To activate, you much click ‘opt in’.

Maria Bingo Review – Bingo Games

Game Options

Players can choose 75 or 90 Ball bingo at Maria Bingo, but there are other variants of 75 ball bingo available which does mix things up a bit. There are some good jackpots to be had, especially in some of their promotional games which can see prizes of up to £20,000, but nothing that is incredibly out of the ordinary.

When you load the bingo game window for the first time you will need to choose a chat name, this will be used as your alias in their chat rooms. Your alias should be different from your username which you selected when completing the registration form.

Loyalty

Maria has its own Loyalty Scheme, which will see players accrue loyalty points for each £10 they spend on either Bingo or Slots. However, you gain by far more loyalty points on Bingo play than on Slots – for example, £10 on Bingo will see you earn 100 points, whereas on Slots you will gain only 10 points for the equivalent deposit.

Other Games

There is a small range of side games, but of course as Maria is also a casino, there are plenty of slots, card games and table games on offer on other parts of the site should you wish for a change of scene. Although you can use the same wallet across the brand, bear in mind your Bingo Freeplay bonus is only available to play on Bingo, and cannot be used anywhere else, including the side games.
