Were any of our readers listening to Radio Leeds about 8pm last night? If you were then you may have heard a live acoustic session from an up and coming band called Pray for Hayden. They appeared on Alan Raw’s “BBC Introducing” show and whilst many may be wondering “What has this got to do with internet bingo?” – the answer is here – we get a mention as Pray for Hayden ‘BallsUp’ live on Radio Leeds.
Pray for Hayden started their piece well but within 2 seconds of starting, a few chords into the song, we heard the words ‘OMG, I’ve BALLSED UP” We heard the piece and instantly contacted Radio Leeds for a quick chat with the lead singer, Ash Elliott, after the impromptu marketing for our site. Ash explained that their song ‘Lies’ has similar opening lyrics to a song by Jimmy Eat World and being uber nervous he sang the words to the wrong song! For the band this must have been devastating but for us, free advertising! However, in true showbiz fashion Pray for Hayden continued and finished their set.
Thinking outside of the bingo box maybe we should have asked the band if they would consider letting BallsUp sponsor them, maybe a set of bingo balls and our logo on the drums (played by Ben Stuart-Brown usually). How about t-shirts with the Pray for Hayden logo on the front and our logo emblazoned across the back to sell to their fans? To be honest, we don’t think our brand fits with the genre of music produced by this band but it’s worth a try.
