Many internet bingo brands are supporting Comic Relief and Jackpot Joy have launched their Red Nose Bingo Room but alongside this we also see Larry Lamb star in the latest Jackpot Joy commercial alongside the Queen of Bingo, Barbara Windsor! You would think that the brand want to have Babs better known for their commercial rather than the landlady of the Queen Victoria pub in Eastenders but with the tag “Do something funny for money” being used by Comic Relief…the commercial certainly raises a laugh!
The Queen of Bingo is shown in the kitchen in her bingo ball gown preparing a cake however she doesn’t look very adept at it with quite a mess being made as the cake is being made. Egg shells appear to be added into the mix and the work surfaces are all covered with flour as Babs prepares a culinary delight for her surprise visitor! The door bell rings in a timely manner just as a strawberry is popped on top of the cake. The Queen opens the door with the camera behind her visitor and seems pleased to see whoever it is.
The next shot in the Jackpot Joy advert reveals Larry Lamb aka Archie Mitchell who asks innocently “Did you miss me?”. With lightening reactions the Queen of Bingo responds “What do you think?” before mashing the cake she so lovingly prepared into his face!
It’s great to see the two characters back together in the Jackpot Joy adverts and this seems a more fitting ending than a fatal blow to the head that Stacey Slater dished out to the slimy toad in Eastenders!
