I spent a little time working as a chat host and obviously since the inception of BallsUp! Bingo have spent numerous hours on many internet bingo sites. Coupled with the fact that I know a fair few Chat Hosts personally and listen to how their jobs are going and how they are managed this is just my views on being a chat host.
Ultimately you will be working for a Chat Manager or a Site Owner – my first piece of advice is if you are offered a trial period where you are paid in “bonus” money – think long and hard before accepting this. It has been known, both personally and from others that the real money is never forthcoming. You will be “let go” after the trial period or the trial period will be extended. Think about it, a site that cannot afford to pay it’s Host’s isnt financially sound or is on the take.
Back to the person who you will report to – try and talk to other hosts who work at the site before accepting a position, get a feel for how they have been treated, check if they are paid on time – basically just because this is an internet based job – treat it the same as a REAL job, in REAL life.
Would you accept Tesco vouchers as payment for working at Tesco’s?
