When it comes to internet bingo there are a number of brands that I have become less and less enamoured with since I started working in the industry and predominantly these are Cozy Games brands. When they first started appearing online it was the chat segregation between funded and un-funded players and the minimum withdrawal amount but as time moves on there is more that ‘gets my goat’ – the Bingo Hero welcome bonus hoops you have to jump through are just one example.
Around the world of internet bingo there are a number of brands who all offer their players a no deposit required welcome bonuses, admittedly these may have the stipulation that registering your financial details at sign-up will unlock your bonus but other than that it’s pretty straightforward – you register an account with the required information and the bonus appears in your account immediately.
Not so the case with Bingo Hero, in order to release their welcome bonus of an advertised £15 you have two stages that you must complete. In the first instance you must check your inbox for a validation email and click the activation link (standard for other networks like St Minver so not really a big issue) – however if you don’t receive the email (I did) then you have to email the site and wait for verification before £10 of your bingo bonus is received. Once all this has been done you do then have to enter your financial details in order to claim the remainder of the bonus although when you register this is not clear! The page you are taken to as soon as you have registers suggests that in order to qualify for the other £5 of the advertised bonus you have “complete your profile” – the intimation being that you have to provide a “personal profile”. Is is really my job to explain to players how the bonus works or the job of the brand advertising it?
Am I being too harsh on Bingo Hero and other Cozy Games brands that have this sort of registration process? I don’t think so because nowhere on the site does it stipulate how the registration process works. It simply states “once you create a confirmed account” with no further reference to what is considered a confirmed account.
Whilst the St Minver network have a similar activation process they do instantly credit you with a percentage of the bonus offered with the remainder being added when you “activate” your account through the welcome email.
Please note: Bingo Hero is part of the Best Bingo Network and other brands on the same network may have the same sort of registration and bonus activation requirements. Bingo Hero are simply the site that I have used as an example.
