There are many adverts on our television screens for internet bingo sites at the moment; you can see Ola Tombola, the Little Big Bingo pennies and many more besides. Wink Bingo have just launched a new marketing campaign; gone is the pyjama clad woman and in comes one woman and her dog. When you take a look at the new advert you will see that they have gone barking mad at Wink Bingo.
When it comes to choosing a theme for a marketing campaign its usual to offer up something that resembles your brand. A great example is the Foxy Bingo adverts featuring a computer generated Fox; we can all see the brand there. The same can be said of Little Big Bingo, play for pennies win pounds is the slogan and their TV advertising features, you’ve guessed it, pennies. However when it comes to the new Wink Bingo advert you are left feeling that they could be advertising any internet bingo site because with the exception of the Wink Bingo logo there is nothing that screams WINK BINGO at you.
The clip starts with the obligatory woman and laptop, yet there are no bingo balls to be seen anywhere. She is sitting playing internet bingo with her bug eyed dog at her side when the words “winner” appear on her screen. As any internet bingo player knows you must ALWAYS seek out one of your pets and promptly perform an Irish jig to celebrate properly!
The marketing team must all be barking mad at Wink Bingo if they believe that this new campaign does the brand any justice at all. Thinking caps on again! Let’s have a bit of winking at least.
