In 2014 STV Bingo moved their operations away from the Cashcade Network and opted to offer games powered by the Bede Gaming software on IP&S . With the move came the closure of the affiliate program so we have opted to direct our players to another site. Please note that this review is of STV on the old 888 / Cashcade offering and will not be updated.

STV Bingo is an online bingo site bought to you by the Scottish news channel STV. They use the 888/Globalcom software and are one of the many sites that form the Cashcade network. If you have used any of the other sites on this network, you will feel right at home as they use the networks standard layout. One nice touch though is the blue and yellow colour scheme which is sure to appeal to both male and female players alike and it makes a real change the from the usual pink and pastel sites that we see all too often.
The STV Bingo homepage is best described as functional rather then exciting. At the top of the page you have a simple menu linking to all of the important areas of the site with a single mouse click. Under this you will find a series of banner advertising their latest offers, promotions and welcome offers. All of these banners are static, which is great news for us as too many flashy graphics are a real bugbear of ours as they become very irritating very quickly.
Click on the ‘Join Now’ link at the top of the page and you will be taken to the registration page where you are asked to enter basic information including name, address, email address etc. As STV Bingo is part of a network you might have to come up with a different username to any you have used on other Cashcade sites. You do have to provide them with your credit card information but they state that this is for security and age verification purposes only, so they won’t take any money until are ready to make a deposit. When you do decide to play for real, you will earn a bonus every time you add funds to your account.
The lobby is well laid out but any sign of STV Bingo vanishes, only to be replaced with a generic ‘Bingo’ logo, so you could be playing at any of the Cashcade brands and never know the difference. There are just four tabs covering 90 ball bingo, 75 ball bingo, pre-buy and instants. Each tab brings up a selection of rooms, but you can only access a few of these until you have made your first deposit. Not all of the rooms are open 24/7 but this is no bad thing as it means at quiet times, the players that are online all congregate in the same place and this results in higher valued jackpots.
The 888/Globalcom software has been around for many years and is used at literally dozens of different sites. This means it has been tweaked to perfection, so the quality of the bingo rooms really cant be faulted. The screen is split into two with the left hand side dedicated to your cards and the right hand being occupied with the chat room. There are plenty of nice features built in and they include an auto-buy facility, a support rooms, plenty of bingo acronyms and a load of emoticons. You can also send your friends virtual gifts, some of them are free but the majority you need to purchase using your Bingo Points.
STV Bingo is home to a schedule packed full of guaranteed cash jackpots, with games starting every fifteen minutes. The site gives away over £50,000 each week and it does not matter if you prefer 75 or 90 ball bingo, you will have the opportunity to join in the fun. Unfortunately this is where the exciting promotions end as there is really not a lot else going on apart from a weekend tournament where you can win Bingo Points, a Loyalty Programme and a Refer a Friend scheme.
STV Bingo is not a bad site and if you like the lure of lots of free money and the chance to win big cash jackpots, you will have a great time. The sad thing is they can only offer the same as the rest of the Cashcade network and right now that is not a great deal. There are plenty of other sites out there using the same software with a lot more to offer, and until STV Bingo make some drastic changes, they will never be considered as a major player in the online bingo world.
STV Bingo Review – Bingo Games
Game Options
STV Bingo is just one of the many sites powered by the popular 888/Globalcom software. They are home to a good range of games including 75 ball bingo, 90 ball bingo and a selection of side games which include multi-line slots, sctatchcards, Roulette, three reel slots and instant games. No matter which one of these games you try, you are guaranteed hours of fun as they combine attractive graphics, exciting game play and plenty of features, all designed to maximise your chances of winning a jackpot or two.
The 888/Globalcom platform does not offer as many options as a lot of the networks out there, but there are enough to keep the average player happy. These options are broken down into five categories – General, In Game, Chat, Card Prize Alert and Dabbing Configuration. These are enough option to let you customise the important aspects of the game such as autodaub and the various sound effects and you can automatically have your cards sorted so that the best ones are always shown on top. Finally there is a number of dauber shapes and colours to choose from, they are only basic but they do the job nicely.
Community
If you are new to STV Bingo or even online bingo in general, make sure you check out the ‘Community’ section of the site. For a start you can get to know a bit more about all of the Chat Moderators you will find in the rooms. These are the people that keep things ticking along nicely, help you out if you need it and run free chat games where you can win extra Loyalty Points. All of the Moderators have completed a small questionnaire about their likes and dislikes and what makes them tick.
There is also a Bingo Lingo guide where you can learn about all of the phrases you will see when you play. There is literally dozens of them, but a few of the most commonly used ones are:
- 1TG – 1 number to go
- 2TG – 2 numbers to go
- 3TG – 3 numbers to go
- BRB – be right back
- GL – good luck
- WTG – way to go
Finally there is the Bingo Calls section, and these have been used ever since we were all playing in traditional bingo halls. There is a different rhyme for every number, but don’t worry you will soon pick them up.
Loyalty
When you register at STV Bingo, you automatically become part of their Loyalty Programme. As a member, you will be rewarded with Bingo Points every time that you log on and play bingo, so the more you play, the more rewards you get. Every card you purchase and every friend you convince to sign up and make a deposit will earn you points that you can exchange for bingo funds, which in turn can be used to pay for bingo cards. You will earn one Bingo Point for every 10p you wager and every 1,000 you accumulate is the equivalent to £1 worth of bonus money.
The points do not end there though, because STV Bingo bring you plenty of ways to boost your tally. The easiest of these is to simply take part in the chat games that run every few minutes in all of their rooms. These are easy enough to take part in and a great way to make new friends, but if the Chat Host does not give you the details when you enter the room, just ask as they are always willing to repeat them. If you fall in love with STV Bingo and refer a friend, you will earn an extra 5,000 Bingo Points for each one that registers and becomes a funded player.
Jackpots
STV Bingo is one of the many sites that go to make up the Cashcade network. Each week they host over 150 games with guaranteed jackpots. These games are spread across all of their rooms, so it does not matter if you prefer 75 ball or 90 ball bingo or whether you play during the day or late into the night, you will always be able to join in the fun. There is a whopping £50,000 up for grabs each weeks with prizes ranging between £25 and £250.
If you head into the STV Bingo lobby though and click on the ‘Pre-Buy’ tab, you will find seven extra special games with even larger prize pots. These games start at 9pm each evening, and you can pre-purchase your cards so you don’t even have to be online to take part. The jackpots up for grabs are:
