Unless you haven’t been watching any television this week you will no doubt have seen the Jackpot Joy advert featuring Barbara Windsor as the Queen of Bingo. The new advertising campaign for this big internet bingo brand has been airing on many channels and in the commercial breaks of some of the most popular television programmes.
Now whilst it’s a great marketing ploy by Jackpot Joy to sign up Barbara Windsor whilst the dust hasn’t quite settled around Peggy Mitchell’s departure from Eastenders, does the new Jackpot Joy advert do the brand justice? It’s a matter of opinion and these vary dependant on who you talk to. Personally I don’t think it’s the best internet bingo marketing campaign ever, my preference still lays with Foxy Bingo, but then is this just sour grapes because I consider myself to be the Queen of Bingo? 😉
I don’t think that the commercials for Jackpot Joy really get across exactly what this internet bingo site has to offer and feel that previous marketing for the brand was more eye catching. However, first and foremost any form of advertising is about getting brand recognition and with a big name like Barbara Windsor fronting the campaign, it’s certainly going to do just that for Jackpot Joy.
In jest I posted the following comment on my Facebook page:
Nickie Shute thinks she might have to fight Babs Windsor – I’M THE QUEEN OF BINGO! *teeheeheee*
And these are some of the responses received:
The music is annoying, it looks cheap, she looks like she reading off an autocue lol
Acting is hardly her forte anyway! I particularly dislike the dubbed carry on style babs giggle. Excellent timing tho, from a marketing perspective. I would have preferred to see the nutty pastor stripped to the waist fanning her, while she reclined in a Cleopatra pose – completely silent.
I would have preferred if they had used the carry on camping scene where she burst out of her bikini to reveal two big bouncing bingo balls lol
In case you have missed it the online bingo advert for Jackpot Joy, here it is:
